Who We Are

Buck Hill Barbecue is a family-owned venture founded by cousins Tyler McCollum and Keith Goodier. Like many in the barbecue world, their journey began with backyard cookouts for family and friends. In the summer of 2023, they turned their passion for food into a catering business, bringing their signature flavors to a wider community.

Over the past years, their ambitions have grown, but the mission remains unchanged: to craft exceptional barbecue by embracing proven techniques, investing in top-tier equipment, and continually experimenting with new ingredients.

“We want to serve the best barbecue to our guests, doing it the right way—using the best ingredients we can get our hands on and with a lot of care. When you try our food, you’ll taste the passion and pride we put into every dish.”

Tyler McCollum is the chef and owner behind Buck Hill Barbecue. He is a Colorado native who has lived in New England for nearly 15 years. He started cooking in restaurants as a teenager, eventually becoming more formally trained in culinary arts in his early twenties. He has since honed his skills working with wood fire in the traditions of central Texas, combined with his native southwestern-style cooking, to develop Buck Hill Barbecue’s signature flavors. He currently lives in North Providence, RI, with his wife and one-year-old son.
